Tips and tricks from grandma 👵

No wonder that with these recipes, even grandma’s old baking utensils are experiencing a revival.

After all, she knew exactly which tools could be used to make life in the kitchen easier and more pleasant. This includes, among other things, the baking board made of solid wood.

This is a relatively large, solid board made of oak or linden, depending on the manufacturer.

It has a stop attached to the top at the back and bottom at the front, which prevents it from slipping when kneading or rolling out the dough. What's more, the dough mess stays on the board - and not on the work surface.

Above all, flour and flour residues do not creep into gaps in the work surface, such as under the ceramic hob, but remain on the baking board thanks to the low back wall.

Extras

We at Holz-Liebling have added a great gimmick to our oak baking board:

The stops can be easily pushed out using a smooth groove system, so that you can store your board effortlessly. This means you don't have to leave your baking board on your work surface permanently.

The stop height of the strips is 3 - 3.5 cm, so that when the baking board is in place, the drawers underneath can still be opened easily.

You can use your baking board here Choose from different sizes from 60cm x 53cm to 110cm x 57cm; this means the baking board fits in every kitchen! 😊

Areas of application

You can use your baking board for mixing and kneading dough and also continue processing the dough directly on the board.

Simply roll out the dough on the board with our rolling pin and continue shaping and cutting 🔪. You can find our rolling pin here.

If you use your baking board for several things but don't want to do all the work on the same surface, simply turn your board over. The arrangement of the stops allows you to use it from both sides.

"Cookies can also be cut out directly on the baking board. You no longer have to worry about scratching your work surface."

Cleaning with ease

Also in the cleaning The baking board scores points over the direct use of the kitchen surface:

  • Simply place the board over the sink and knock off dry residue
  • You can simply scrape off any pieces of dough that still resist with a blunt blade (the back of your butter knife)
  • You can simply wipe any remaining residue off the board directly into the sink with a damp cloth 🌫️. As with all wooden products, you should just make sure that it does not get too wet and let the baking board dry thoroughly while standing.
