Our high-quality chopping blocks made of cherry, oak, walnut or birch end grain are real heavyweights in your kitchen. These end grain chopping blocks are not only functional and "higher" cutting boards, but also an absolute block catch in the kitchen. Especially in open-plan kitchens, such a chopping block can become a real design element in addition to its actual function. The production of end grain blocks is much more complex than the production of traditional longitudinal wood cutting boards. The wood is not cut lengthways as usual, but across the wood grain. This means that the disassembled cubes or strips of wood can be put together in such a way that the annual rings of the tree are visible from above.

The end grain block therefore has a number of advantages over the long grain cutting board. End grain is more robust and resistant than long grain, which makes our chopping block particularly durable and hard. The surface rarely becomes rough and dull, but always remains smooth with occasional fine sanding. The chopping block cuts a fine figure even for rough kitchen work. Strong blows from the chip mallet do not harm the monster and, above all, it remains securely on the kitchen worktop. The cross-cut wood fibers ensure that even high-quality and very sharp knives become less blunt when cutting. This means that your cutting equipment stays sharp and ready for use for longer. The surface itself also stays free of cutting grooves for longer, as the wood fibers are not cut, but only separated. The next time they come into contact with moisture, they swell and close fine grooves. 

All our products are of course manufactured sustainably in our own carpentry workshop. The wood comes from controlled cultivation and is deliberately stored and dried, which ensures outstanding wood quality. With a residual moisture content of approx. 8-10%, the wood is optimally prepared and is delivered to us by our Wood suppliers, delivered directly to production. Another advantage of end grain wood is its special appearance. The annual rings give each chopping block a unique, natural and one-of-a-kind pattern.
