What awaits you
design
We will introduce you to all the types of wood that we use at Holz-Liebling. From these (over ten) different types of wood, you choose your favorites and first design your cutting board on paper.
Cutting
The required pieces of wood are then roughly sawn out of large wooden planks using a chainsaw. These are then cut to finer sizes using various saws and then planed.
Snack
Then the individual pieces of wood are glued together and secured with screw clamps. While the glue sets, the course participants treat themselves to a small snack.
finish
The glued boards are then planed further, edges are milled and finally finely sanded. Until the big moment arrives when the cutting boards are finally oiled and the result can be admired in all its glory.

It was a great experience to design and build your own wooden board! The explanations about the type of wood, the support during the individual processing steps and getting to know the machines gave a great insight into the carpenter's work.
A wonderful experience that I like to think back on when I look at our unique wooden boards!

My wife gave me the course as a gift (probably not entirely selflessly). A great course, not just for experienced craftsmen but also for laypeople. Marc expertly explained the types of wood and their properties to us before we could get started ourselves. The manageable group size made the experience even more enjoyable. If you like working with wood, want to create something yourself and want to combine that with a stress-free day, this is the right place for you. And the work results are not only individual and made by hand, but also of the highest quality. You won't find that in any shop.
